Report on CBRNe Events in the World – July 2020 Edition

The University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Department of Electronic Engineering – DIE, the Observatory on Security and CBRNe Defence – OSDIFE, and the State University of the Republic of San Marino, Center for Security Studies – CUFS are pleased to present the “OSDIFE Report on CBRNe Events in the World – Issue July 2020“.

The Report aims to disseminate information related to a wide range of unconventional events worldwide, selected and systematised by our international editorial team on a weekly basis over the whole month, with relation to Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, Oceania.

The Report covers issues related to CBRNe threats, and also has special coverage for COVID-19 pandemic, terrorism and counter-terrorism, security and defence technological innovations.

The OSDIFE Report endeavours to build a network of mutual information exchange. To this aim, we invite you to contribute to the Report by sending news, events and initiatives of relevance to CBRNe and WMD, by email to CBRNe-die@ing.uniroma2.it

We would also like to remind you that OSDIFE is developing an Intelligent Platform for CBRNe Events and Asymmetric Threats, adopting Artificial Intelligence to provide an OSINT tool focused on CBRNe/WMD/Terrorism/Cyber/Crime threats and trends with application across security, academia and science fields.

“Bando Leonardo per nuovi ricercatori” scadenza 31 Luglio 2020

Leonardo lancia i Leonardo Labs, una rete internazionale di laboratori aziendali dedicati alla ricerca avanzata e all’innovazione tecnologica. Nel 2020 prevediamo di inaugurare 6 laboratori nell’area di Milano, Torino, Genova, Roma, Napoli e Taranto e di assumere 68 ricercatori (Leonardo Research Fellows).

Verranno coinvolte varie realtà del Gruppo Leonardo, tra cui anche Telespazio.

Report on CBRNe Events in the World – Issue June 2020

The University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Department of Electronic Engineering – DIE, the Observatory on Security and CBRNe Defence – OSDIFE and the State University of the Republic of San Marino, Center for Security Studies – CUFS are pleased to present the “Report on CBRNe Events in the World – Issue June 2020“.


The Report aims to disseminate news and information, as well as to observe and monitor a wide range of unconventional events. It is a unique tool at international level, which allows not only to identify the effective type and occurrence of each event, but also to highlight trends as a valuable result of a detailed analysis. The main purpose is to improve further strategies and consequent mitigation actions and to properly face global emerging threats. Furthermore, this report allows to synthetically evaluate each event, as well as to provide a related hyperlink for further in-depth analysis.
Given its extreme relevance today and for the future of international safety and security, the Report includes a brief section focused on COVID-19 as a biological global threat. The study, organized on a weekly basis and examining the world by dividing it into macro geographical areas, deals with reporting the SARS-CoV-2 May milestones and the progress of cases and deaths. In this way, the reader will be allowed to effectively grasp the big picture of the critical situation linked to the pandemic, beside its evolution during the month covered by the current Report issue.
The Report endeavours to build a network of mutual contributions. For that, the International Editor, the Coordinator and the Authors welcome your help for future issues. We invite you to contribute to the Report by sending news, events and initiatives, of relevance to CBRNe and WMD, by email to news.report@osdife.org .

ESA Academy’s Online Standardization Training Course

L’ufficio didattico dell’ESA, in collaborazione con la sezione Requisiti e norme dell’ESA, sta ora accettando le domande degli studenti universitari per la quarta edizione del corso di formazione sulla standardizzazione dell’ESA Academy. Questa parte essenziale del lavoro delle agenzie spaziali e delle industrie europee è qualcosa che gli studenti di solito non imparano all’università ma è qualcosa di cui avranno sicuramente bisogno nelle loro future carriere legate allo spazio.

La scadenza per le domande è il 10 agosto 2020.
